All Children's Hospital, Kohl's Cooks for Kids, St. Pete Fire and Rescue-Fossil Park Station and Radio Disney are stirring up some fun and challenging families to show off their culinary skills at the Firehouse Family Chili Cook-off and Block Party on Saturday, October 15th from 10am to 2pm at the Fossil Park Fire Station located at 6975 Dr. MLK St. N. in St. Petersburg. You don't have to compete in the cook-off to come and sample the tasty entries!

The free event will also include fire safety demonstrations, a helicopter landing, a bike rodeo, K-9 demonstrations and much more.

To be selected to participate in the chili cook-off, families will need to submit a healthy recipe to our nutrition and culinary experts by October 8th. The event is designed for children who are in grades 1-6, plus one adult to assist with the all kitchen duties. Recipe categories include:

• All About Beans
• Lean and Mean (Red Meat)
• Very Veggie (Vegetarian)
• Fowl Bowl (Chicken Chili)
• Gobble It Up (Turkey Chili)
