Congratulations to the Phayre family of Sarasota for placing third in the national Family Dance-off to fight childhood obesity. The third place win brings with it a $15,000 donation to All Children's Hospital from Primrose Schools. The Pharye family was surprised with the announcement Wednesday morning March 30th, at the Primrose School at Lakewood Ranch Town Center.

The Family Dance-off is part of Primrose's commitment to happy hearts and healthy bodies in each of its preschools and communities. Childhood obesity and the need for more physical activity are critical issues for young children in America; according to the Centers for Disease Control, the national childhood obesity rate has tripled in the last 30 years, and the American Journal of Health Promotion reports one in three children under two years old is overweight. 

"As a local Children's Miracle Network hospital, we were proud to support this campaign to get children and families moving for healthier, more active lives," said Stephanie Hall, CMN Director at All Children's Hospital. "We thank everyone who voted for the Phayre family's video to bring home this donation. All Children's Hospital touches the lives of thousands of children and families in our community every year, and an extra $15,000 will help us have an even bigger impact."
