| Fall Festival Fun at the Gateway Organic Farm |
|
Sat. Nov. 13 was a great day to be out on the Gateway Organic Farm. Lots of sunshine and incredible aromas filled the greenhouse where our young chefs teamed up with the culinary experts.
Chefs from throughout Tampa Bay, including Chef Tyson from Parkshore Grill, Chef David from 400 Beach Drive, Chef Tom from Salt Rock Grill, Chef Cathleen from Tarpon Springs Culinary Academy, Chef Gui personal chef and our very own Fit4Allkids program expert - Chef Sarah, volunteered their time and expertise. Children also had the opportunity to pick up the Yum, Yum! Let's Make Some Cookbook, tour the farm, decorate pumpkins, plant peas to take home and prepare a healthy make and take snack. The children participating in the cook-off received medallions and the winning team went home with special embroidered chef hats. Fit4Allkids thanks Kohl's Department Store and the Kohl's Cares for Kids Community Foundation for their continued support in the fight against the childhood obesity epidemic through a $166,209 donation to support future Fit4Allkids program efforts.
Fox 13's Charley Belcher reported live from the farm on Friday during Good Day Tampa Bay.
