The Covidien SILS Mobile Tour will visit ACH on June 7-8 at the Sexton Building. Surgical Education Sessions, Hands-On Workshops and tours will be available durng the following times:

Monday, June 7: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 8: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The mobile tour will demonstrate ground-breaking surgical procedures to All Children's Surgical Staff. 

The tractor-trailer, state-of-the-art operating room facility on wheels introduces local surgeons and others around the country to the most advanced single incision surgery (SILS) tools and procedures to enable safer surgeries, faster healing and no scars for patients. 

Single incision laparoscopic repair is the natural progression of minimally invasive surgery. All Children's has utilized this innovative technology to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures on babies as small as four pounds. Currently we are using SILS for surgeries to remove the gallbladder or gallstones, an infected appendix, teratoma or dermoid cysts, and the spleen due to injury or blood related diseases.  In addition, the procedure is utilized for hernia repair in the groin and diaphragm areas and for the creation of an anti-reflux valve in the stomach for treatment of gastroesphageal reflux and chronic vomiting.  To view video demonstrations of pediatric surgical procedures, go to www.allkids.org/surgery
