|April is National Occupational Therapy Month|
Each year in April, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and students host a month long celebration showcasing the importance of Occupational Therapy (OT).
All Children's Hospital is pleased to recognize the 47 occupational therapists that work at our twelve sites located throughout west central Florida. These specially trained professionals make up part of the multidisciplinary team that makes a children's hospital unique. Their services encompass both acute care and outpatient evaluation and treatment.
Occupational therapy is a science-driven, evidenced based profession that enables people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health, prevent-or live better with-injury, illness, or disability. The occupational therapist's care plan is designed for each individual and is supported by data, experience, and "best practices" that have been developed and proven over time.
Pediatric occupational therapy at All Children's Hospital helps children gain independence and promotes development of fine motor skills, sensory motor skills and visual motor skills that children need to function and socialize in their home, school, play and community environments. In the case of an injury or debilitating illness, our services focus on rehabilitating children, allowing them to return to their daily routines at their highest level of function.
Please join us in thanking all of our occupational therapists for their commitment and dedication!
