October 2013 is National Physical Therapy Month

October is National Physical Therapy Month. ACH  says thank you to the more than 60 amazing and highly skilled physical therapists (PT's) and physical therapy assistants (PTA's) who serve or patients everyday. ACH offers Physical Therapy services both inpatient as well as at 10 outpatient locations. In addition, we offer Sports & Orthopedic Physical Therapy at six outpatient sites, which include: the main campus, Brandon, East Lake, Pasco, Sarasota, and Tampa.

The AllSports Medicine Physical Therapy Program at ACH has been continuously growing over the last year. The AllSports Physical Therapists blend their skills in sports medicine and their unique knowledge of pediatric growth and development to provide comprehensive care for young athlete and enable them to return to their sport at a competitive level.

The goal of Physical Therapy is to improve and restore motion and independence.  The role of pediatric physical therapists (PTs) is to work with children and their families to assist each child in reaching their maximum potential to function independently and promote active participation at home, in school, and community.

A physical therapist's extensive education, clinical expertise, and "hands on" approach brings unique, individualized care. In the hands of a pediatric physical therapist, each patient and family receive plan of care that is centered on both patients and family needs.

The goal of the month-long celebration is to raise awareness of the important role that physical therapists and physical therapy assistants play in helping children and adolescents improve mobility and engage in healthy lifestyles.
