My labor and delivery were complicated. My son was born at 29 weeks and after a week in another hospital he became very ill and was transported to All Children's Hospital. This was one of the scariest times of my life. I decided to start looking for a "primary care nurse." Luckily, one night, Lisa Alba was taking care of him. The second she walked in the room I felt better. She carried herself with such confidence and was extremely comforting. I immediately felt that my baby was safe with her. I asked her to be his primary nurse. As I got to know her, I realized how lucky I was to have her as my baby's nurse. "Lisa has been a nurse since 1991. She has worked in the NICU at All Children's for the past six years, retuning to ACH after working here previously," said Cindy Driscoll RN, BSN, MS, Director of the NICU. "She is an extremely strong patient advocate. She works with the healthcare team to ensure that her patients have what they need to achieve the optimal outcome. Lisa frequently 'primaries' babies in the NICU and goes out of her way to make sure the practitioners and neonatologists know her concerns and they can come together to develop a plan of care. She demonstrates service excellence on a consistent and ongoing basis." Thank you Lisa, for your service excellence to All Children's Hospital and your continued passion to pursue perfection. |
