Maria Hansen is the February 2010 All Children's Hospital Employee of the Month.  Maria works in Environmental Services as a Housekeeper I and has been with All Children's since 2009.  Two families who recognized Maria's Service Excellence nominated her for Employee of the Month.  One family said:

What a friendly and helpful person, she is just wonderful.  She is great with the kids and makes you feel like family. 

The other family said:

Our daughter got very sick while visiting Florida from Texas and had to be admitted to All Children's Hospital.  Maria sang Spanish songs to my daughter just like her grandmother does in Texas.  Maria really made our daughter's stay more comfortable hearing familiar songs from home.  Maria brightened our day every day we were here and would always put a smile on our daughter's face every time she came in to clean our room.  It was amazing to see such a sick little girl smile.  Our daughter looked forward to Maria every day she was here - she would hear Maria's voice and look around with a smile knowing she was safe and welcome just like at home.  Maria is a very cheerful, nice, caring person and wonderful employee.

Maria's Department Director added:

Maria is an excellent area cleaner and takes the extra time to get the job done correctly.  She is responsible for over 4,160 patient room cleanings annually and still makes time to make our children smile because she insists they are her children as well - it's an approach that makes it easy to see why she stands out.
