Congratulations to Cony Cubides, RN who is the August 2011 Daisy Award Recipient. Cony works in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.

A parent wrote:

All of the nurses and employees at All Children's Hospital have been wonderful. Among this constellation of caring, one star shined the brightest. Cony Cubides was our daughter's daytime nurse. Cony could not have been more professional and knowledgeable in caring for our daughter. Just as important, she was caring, patient and compassionate. Not just toward our child, but to us as well. As first-time parents who live out of state, Cony took time to educate us about taking care of our daughter. Our life as parents has started out on a firm foundation largely due to Cony's help. She also helped us to navigate finding a place to stay close by and take care of ourselves. I do not think our daughter would have been able to leave the hospital as quickly without the outstanding and caring nurses. Thank you so much Cony and All Children's!

"Cony joined All Children's in 1989 and was recruited to the NICU in 2001. Since then, she has become a tremendous asset to the NICU staff," said NICU Director, Cindy Driscoll, RN, BSN. "Cony loves neonates and her nursing shines through in her outstanding clinical care of the patients and their families. She is very friendly, approachable and truly a highly valued nurse and friend."
