The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at All Children’s Hospital is a 97 bed Level 3 NICU, offering the highest level of neonatal care to the newborns of Florida, the Southeast, and many neighboring international locations. ACH is designated a Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center (RPICC) by Florida’s Children’s Medical Services (CMS), providing high-risk obstetrical care and neonatal intensive care to all patients regardless of financial needs. As a part of Johns Hopkins Medicine, All Children’s Hospital offers the most advanced and comprehensive neonatal care.

Neonatology and the Neonatologist
Neonatology is a specialty of pediatrics that focuses on treating premature infants or infants with critical medical conditions.  Neonatologists are pediatricians who have completed specialized training to treat newborns and infants with critical conditions.

The All Children’s Hospital NICU
Care is provided within a 97 bed unit made up almost entirely of private rooms equipped with the most advanced life-support and monitoring equipment.  Spacious rooms and comfortable lounge chairs encourage parents to spend as much time as possible with their newborn.

Transport Team and Affiliations
All Children’s Hospital maintains a neonatal transport team available at all times to transport these fragile patients safely and efficiently by ambulance and by air transport from locations in Florida, the Southeast, and many neighboring international locations, to our facility.  All Children’s Hospital’s NICU is also proud to operate and provide supportive services to the regional hospital NICUs within its care network, including Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Peace River Regional Hospital, St. Petersburg General Hospital, Florida Hospital Tampa, and Spring Hill Regional Hospital.

Bayfront Baby Place
The new Bayfront Baby Place is located on the third floor of All Children’s Hospital. In addition to routine ob-gyn services, Bayfront Baby Place has a special antepartum unit where women with high-risk pregnancies may stay for several weeks before delivery.

All Children's Perinatology Specialists (OB-GYNs who specialize in maternal fetal medicine) manage the care of these women during pregnancy and delivery. They work closely with All Children's neonataologists and other subspecialists to anticipate the often complex medical and surgical needs of these newborns.

Johns Hopkins Medicine
All Children’s Hospital became a part of the Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS) and a fully integrated member of Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) on April 1, 2011, providing new opportunities for collaborative research and support to further the hospital’s mission to provide the highest standards of patient care. It is also affiliated with the University of South Florida College of Medicine and is a training site for future physicians, keeping it at the cutting edge of medical advances.
