Is It OK to Wear a Tampon in the Bath or Shower?

Can I wear a tampon in the bath or shower during my period?
- Soraya*

Yes. It's fine to wear a tampon in the bath or shower.

Although it's perfectly OK to use a tampon while showering or bathing, many girls find they don't need one. Most of the time blood won't leak out. But if it does, its not a big deal since it's not like swimming where you're in the water with other people.

When you get out of the water, it's a good idea to change your tampon: Remove the one you've been wearing and put in a new tampon before getting dressed.
