Should I Exercise if I'm Feeling Tired?

What is the proper amount of exercise each day/how many days per week? If you're feeling tired, is it better to exercise or wait until the next day?

Experts recommend healthy teens get at least 1 hour of moderate to vigorous exercise daily. Teens with chronic medical conditions, like heart problems, should check with their doctor to see how much exercise is appropriate for them.

If exercise has left you worn out, it's good to rest for a day. In fact, taking a day off is a requirement for certain types of exercise — like strength training. This helps the body repair itself and protect itself from injury. Tiredness or aching in the muscles is the body's way of telling you it needs a break. If you're still feeling tired after taking a few days off, talk to your doctor.
