An innovative All Children's Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine pediatric residency training program will begin in 2014, joining new clinical and research subspecialty fellowships. Research programs here in St. Petersburg will help physicians and scientists at All Children's and Hopkins contribute to understanding of childhood diseases and developing new treatments and cures.
Internationally renowned pediatric heart surgeons and cardiologists from both institutions are working collaboratively on treatment, research and education advancing knowledge and bringing new therapeutic options to children with congenital heart defects or other life-threatening cardiac problems. Similar approaches are beginning for neonatology, pediatric surgery, pediatric neurology/neuroscience, cancer, and blood disorders.
As the focus of health care changes to prevention, we will use the knowledge gained from our collaborative efforts to keep children healthy...and help them become healthy adults.
