Must have a current Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida. Must have a Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or a Baccalaureate degree in an appropriate biological/ chemical/ medical/ physical science with at least 12 months of accredited clinical education in an accredited MT program a Baccalaureate degree in an appropriate biological/ chemical/ medical/ physical science with at least 12 months of accredited clinical education and at least 3 years of experience at the Technologist level, or a Baccalaureate degree in an appropriate biological/ chemical/ medical/ physical science and at least 4 years of experience at the Technologist level. During patient contact, must be able to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to patients. Requires good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to meet deadlines. Requires discreet handling of confidential information. Must have the manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to prepare specimens and perform clinical and microscopic analyses. Knowledge and ability to use computers, automated instruments, and mechanical apparatus is required. Must have the ability to move about the hospital campus. Long periods of standing and/or sitting at instruments or hoods required. Light lifting of reagents and supplies required |
