|Stephanie Hall Earns Top Honor & $10,000 Donation from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals|
The woman whom many generous corporate donors know as the smiling face behind Telethon and Radiothon efforts for All Children's Hospital has earned highest honors from Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), a fundraising network of 170 children's hospitals across North America and their local TV and radio outlets.
Stephanie Hall, CMNH Program Director for All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, was presented with the Stephanie Melemis Excellence in Service Award at the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals annual gathering in Orlando FL on Friday, October 21st. In addition to a commemorative piece of children's artwork for the recipient, the Melemis Award generates a $10,000 donation to the 2012 All Children's Hospital Telethon in Stephanie Hall's name, courtesy of award sponsor McLane Corporation.
Hall has been the CMNH Program Director at All Children's Hospital since 1993, and a hospital employee since 1988. She oversees donor relations for the All Children's Hospital Telethon on WFLA News Channel 8 in Tampa/St. Petersburg and WXCW-TV in Ft. Myers, FL. She also initiated the US 103.5 Cares for Kids Radiothon to benefit All Children's Hospital in 2008. Combined, the Telethon and Radiothon efforts have raised nearly $62-million for All Children's Hospital under Hall's program leadership. While fundraising figures are one measure of Hall's success, her commitment to All Children's patients - and the donors who support the hospital's work - reflects the excellence recognized with the Melemis Award.
"Stephanie's greatest strength is her appreciation of relationships crucial to success," says Tom Mundell, Executive VP for the All Children's Hospital Foundation. "Not only does she strengthen relationships with co-workers through honesty and respect, she nurtures donor relationships by sincerely listening to their wants, needs and dreams. It's impossible to count the times she's visited a patient's bedside, listened to a family member's concerns or cheered success while participating in donor events."
"She leads with passion, conviction, and purpose - and in doing so, allowed us to achieve so much more than what we initially believed possible," notes Terri Heaney, Personnel Coordinator for Walmart 2740 in Tampa and Co-Chair of the Walmart & Sam's Club Advisory Board for fundraising activities at All Children's. Since Hall established the Board in 1990, local Walmart & Sam's Clubs have raised $12-million for All Children's. "We raise money one dollar at a time," reflects Heaney. "Stephanie creates miracles by touching one life at a time."
The Melemis Award recognizes a CMNH Program Director whose selfless and heartfelt service characterizes the commitment and dedication exemplified by its namesake Stephanie Melemis, Senior VP of CMNH's Canadian Operations who passed away suddenly in 1998. She built the network's Canadian Telethon and Radiothon efforts, serving the children of Canada faithfully for more than eleven years.
