I watched Traci take care of a patient in our department for over a month. He was on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy most of the time and was very ill.
I have worked at All Children's for over nine years in many departments. I would like to let you know that I saw such dedication and loving care that Traci showed this patient and his family during his Illness. Traci never asked for help, except when bathing or turning him. She gave 200% of herself to take care of this child! She always answered the parents' questions, always made sure he had everything he needed, always kept his room clean, and always made sure everything was in order so that his room was very neat. Traci never took time for herself; always making sure his needs came first.
I was so proud of her and the care she gave to this patient and his family. I just wanted someone to know we do have very good, kind, and wonderful nurses. Traci leads the pack, not only for this patient, but for all of her patients. She always has a smile and is always very quiet, but gets the job done.
When the patient passed away, Traci was there. I could see the hurt on her face. She was also there for the family when they needed her. She was there to help with the final care and duties. She did it with a smile on her face and tears in her eyes. She did her duties with pride!
"Traci is an exceptional nurse that displays genuine concern and empathy every shift she works," said Melissa Macogay, Director, Pediatric Intensive Care. "She has a presence about her that is comforting and calming to our families, even during a crisis. She is a tremendous asset to the PICU and our families."
Thank you Traci, for your service excellence to All Children's Hospital and your continued passion to pursue perfection.
