May is Better Hearing and Speech Month

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month, the perfect time to communicate some important information about hearing and speech. One in four children have a hearing, speech or language problem- a condition that makes it difficult to communicate with others. Untreated, these problems can limit you at home, school and work. Anyone of any age can have or develop an impairment of the ability to hear, speak, or understand effectively.

Here at All Children’s Hospital our 70 Speech Language Pathologists and 30 Audiologists treat children with communication and feeding problems everyday. Our certified Speech-Language Pathologists have master’s degrees and extensive specialized training in childhood speech, feeding and language problems. They can help your child to develop the skills needed for successful communication and eating. Our Audiologists work to identify, evaluate and manage hearing disorders in children. Our master’s and doctorate level Audiologists are specially trained to perform puretone, tympanometry, speech and electrophysiologic tests for a reliable diagnosis.

We are proud to have a dedicated and talented team of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists who share the hospital's mission to provide leadership in child health through treatment, education, research, and advocacy.

Please join us in thanking all of our Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists for their commitment and dedication!
