|All Children's Hospital Earns 2013 Path to Excellence Award|
All Children's Hospital is a winner of the 2013 National Research Corporation Path to Excellence Award as a top performer in the children's hospital category. The award was presented Sunday, Sept. 22 at the NRC's International Patent-Centered Care Symposium in Baltimore. Marie Antonucci, Director of Case Management, and Kristin Maier, Director of Child Life, accepted the award on behalf of ACH.
Two children's hospitals were selected for this year's Path to Excellence award based on their performance on pediatric inpatient patient and family experience data collected from April 2012 through March 2013. At least 84% of respondents gave ACH the highest possible score (9 or 10) for inpatient performance.
All Children's works with NRC to conduct patient and family experience surveys, with a focus on promoting patient- and family-centered care. As a 2013 award recipient, All Children's is among a select group of healthcare innovators leading the way on the path to patient-centered care. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Children's Hospital Boston are among the winners of this award in recent years.
"This award reflects the compassion and commitment that our employees demonstrate across the continuum of care," notes Hella Ewing, RN, MSM, ACH Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. "Thanks to that dedication, we have continued to implement best practices and innovative multidisciplinary approaches to comprehensive care, earning the trust and appreciation of patients and families. Congratulations and thank you to our staff for the outstanding effort reflected in this award."
