|May 22 is National EMS for Children Day|
Each year, the federal Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program partners with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) to celebrate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week (May 19-25). Within the week-long celebration, Wednesday, May 22 is designated as EMS for Children Day.
Being prepared for our smallest patients has come to the forefront in the last year as tragic events in our country included many pediatric patients.
All Children's Hospital and the ACH Critical Care Transport Team work with approximately 30 local EMS agencies in providing pre-hospital pediatric care. This includes relationships with two air medical carriers.
ACH is an active participant in the Florida EMS for Children. Julie Bacon, RN and ACH Chief Flight Nurse, serves as the Clinical Advisory Chair and John Harding, ACH VP of Operations is also an appointed member of the state committee.
Today we say thanks to all those who help get patients safely to All Children' Hospital on a daily basis.
