ACH AllSports Medicine Athletic Trainers Help Keep Student Athletes Safe

March is National Athletic Training Month. All Children's Hospital is proud to recognize our Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC's) who are part of our AllSports Medicine Program - Tampa Bay's only sports medicine program focused solely on young athletes.

"Every Body Needs an Athletic Trainer" is the 2013 theme recognizing Athletic Trainers (ATs) as experts in taking care of all kinds of injuries and for their commitment to helping people prevent injuries and keeping people healthy and active.

We appreciate our athletic trainers for their commitment to helping children prevent injuries and stay healthy. They work in sports rehabilitation with patients at the main hospital campus in St. Petersburg and at our outpatient centers in East Lake, Brandon and Sarasota (program expansion is planned in the future in Pasco and Tampa).

Our athletic trainers specialize in the prevention, assessment, immediate care, and rehabilitation of injuries. They work closely with orthopedic and sports medicine physicians and rehabilitation therapists to provide treatment for the care of young athletes. They also specialize in patient and community education on sports safety and injury prevention. Our ATC's additionally provide on the field coverage of community and school athletic events. The athletic training professional is an important part of the sports medicine team to ensure comprehensive care from injury to return to sport.

Please join us in celebrating National Athletic Training Month and our ACH AllSports Medicine Athletic Trainers.
