Patient Care Technician III

Description: The PCT 3 has advanced knowledge and skills related to the care of patients and families. Demonstrates focused critical thinking. Communicates and collaborates effectively within the patient care team. Anticipates and provides for patient responses to tasks delegated to them as defined by the Division of Nursing’s Scope of Practice and the department specific competency pathway. The PCT 3 demonstrates teamwork and an outcome-oriented approach to care. This position requires the successful completion of the unit specific competency tool annually.
Requirements: PCT 1 – High School Diploma/GED, BLS. A CNA, MA or a student currently enrolled in an approved BSN program, who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, will be considered. PCT 2 – High School Diploma/ GED, EMT and BLS. A CNA or MA with two years’ experience will be considered. Students in their final year of a BSN program may be considered. PCT 3 – High School Diploma/GED, BLS and Paramedic or LPN license required. Newly licensed RN’s, who are current employees of ACH, who choose to apply for a future RN Residency Program may also be employed as a PCT 3. Professional appearance and behaviors are expected at all times. Hospital required education, tasks and unit specific competency pathways are due on time. Failure to complete timely will result negatively on education section of employee’s evaluation and may prohibit ability to work until outstanding items are successfully completed. Hospital based patient care experience preferred. Pediatric experience highly desirable. Some departments may have additional experience requirements related to their specialty.
