This position will assist with the implementation of State and Federal policies and regulations for the local Early Steps (LES), a grant funded program through the Florida Department of Health, Children's Medical Services including, but not limited to, case management/service coordination and compliance/quality improvement related to eligible infants, toddlers with special needs and their families as well as building partnerships and linkages within the region's respective local communities with other service coordinators, providers and stakeholders such as local education agencies (LEA), FDLRS and community agencies serving young children.
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university with an emphasis in one of the following areas:
Psychology, Social Work, Health Education, Interdisciplinary Sociology, Early Childhood, Child Development, or Special Education, or an equivalent degree based on transcript review. A minimum of three years documented experience will substitute for an out of field degree. Must have at least one year of professional experience (1600) hours of hand-on experience with young children and families in a teaching, case management or counseling role, or with individuals with special needs and/or developmental delays of any age in a case management role. Time spent in a practicum or internship situation (up to 400 hours) may apply toward the 1600 hours of hands-on experience. Resumes are not considered certification of experience.
Requires excellent interpersonal skills as well as ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must be able to analyze and interpret specific and non-specific information for decision-making. Has contact with a wide variety of people requiring ability to use a high level of tact and diplomacy.
