Office Assistant II

Description: Schedule: Sat/Sun 7a - 5p plus 3 weekdays from 12:30 to 8pm. The Imaging Services Office Assistant II is responsible for accurate operational flow of all specialties, and advanced clerical functions. This includes the Imaging areas of Diagnostic Radiology, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Dexa and PET CT. Performs and prioritizes multiple tasks concurrently in a fast paced environment. Conducts self with a high level of professional customer service skills while maintaining support services for each inter-department modality, and hospital wide.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent typing skills and computer literacy required. Medical terminology required. Four to five years’ advanced clerical experience required with 2 years in a medical ancillary department, or 1 year in Imaging Services. Other relevant healthcare experience, and/or education may be considered in lieu of this. Requires discriminatory handling of confidential information, the disclosure of which could have negative impact effects. Ability to make decisions, and establish appropriate priorities. Must be able to work on many different activities simultaneously with positive outcomes. Ability to work under stressful situations. Ability to maintain a high level of tact, and diplomacy. Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally, and in writing. Excellent interpersonal relationships and communication required in dealing with patients, parents, physicians, and other staff members. Must have a good understanding of age specific needs of patients, and the needs of special, or challenged children. Must have ability to effectively deal with stress, and patient volume fluctuations. Ability to prioritize, and cover any hours required by the department. Some overtime, and/or shift changes may be required.
