PART-TIME, 24 hours weekly
Entry-level Pulmonary Function Technician 1 (minimum of 1 year Respiratory Therapy experience required, pediatric experience preferred) focusing primarily on skill and knowledge development . Responsible for providing direct and safe patient care at a basic level. Still requires consultation with more experienced clinicians and benefits from feedback. Demonstrates and completes PFT I clinical pathway.
Current respiratory therapist licensure by the Florida Board of Respiratory Care. Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). (CRT hired before 2012 will be grandfathered.) BLS required Travel to and from ACH OCCs in the Tampa Bay area including, but not limited to East Lake, Tampa, Lakeland, Brandon, Sarasota, and Pasco. Travel may be required for up to 50% of scheduled shifts. PFT 3 must have a minimum of one advanced credential (i.e. CPFT, RPFT). Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, parents, patients, fellow staff and all members of the healthcare team. Ability to position patients to properly administer all diagnostic modalities as described in the departmental procedure manuals. Ability to utilize a variety of different equipment to render testing. Ability to perform physical activity, including but not limited to: repetitive motions, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching and stooping. Cognitive skill required to provide safe patient care. Physical ability to perform diagnostic testing on Pediatric, Adolescent and Adult population. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff. Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress.
