The Clinical Unit Based Research Nurse (CUBRN) is specifically trained and uniquely qualified to assist in the coordination and implementation of research protocols for All Children's Hospital in accordance with federal and hospital regulations. Responsibilities include: safe delivery of protocol procedures and interventions for pediatric research patients; direct patient care using the nursing practice model - TREAT (treatment, research, education, advocacy, and teamwork); data collection and /or collection of specimens as required for the implementation of approved protocols. The Clinical Unit Base Research Nurse (CUBRN) collaborates with principal investigators and other study team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with institutional standards of care.
Current licensure in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required. In lieu of the Bachelor's degree, RNs with an Associate Degree in Nursing with pediatric clinical experience will be considered. Nursing certification is preferred. Pediatric clinical research experience is preferred. Requires a minimum of 5 years of professional nursing practice experience in clinical based or hospital settings. Knowledge of investigational therapies which requires special expertise and clinical care management is preferred. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills with multidisciplinary team (e.g. email communication, multidisciplinary rounds). Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Able to work on multiple projects concurrently. Ability to perform physical activity, including but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching and stooping.
