Health Unit Coordinator

Description: The Health Unit Coordinator assumes the receptionist and coordinator duties as delegated in a patient care unit.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. One year previous health unit coordinator or related experience required. Ability to work independently, prioritizes, and has exceptional organizational skills. Demonstrates basic computer skills. Ability to perform physical activity, including, but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.) lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching, and stooping. Physical ability to perform all essential and other functions. Read/write/speak and understand English. Auditory and visual ability to complete duties. Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff. Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress. Must be able to employ a variety of communications equipment, including multi-line telephone system, facsimile equipment, computers, etc.
