Performs clerical duties requiring computer and data entry skills and use of computer information. Responsible for transcription report maintenance including importing, editing, and report distribution. This position interacts frequently with medical staff and other providers. May perform other HIS functions in the HIM Department based on work volumes.
High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of one year office/customer service experience required. Graduate of an accredited transcription school or transcription experience highly preferred. Understanding of medical terminology is highly preferred. Previous medical record experience highly preferred. Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel required. Excellent typing skills are a must. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
