Data Analyst

Description: The Data Analyst position is accountable for evaluating and responding to requests for data collection, manipulation, tabulation, and analysis. Responsible for designing, collecting, distributing, and providing preliminary analysis and review of data (including data integrity, validity, trend analysis, etc.) Presents or assists others with presentation of data collected for research, educational, productivity or other purposes. The Data Analyst employs a full range of analytical tools and methodologies to transform data into useful, decision-supporting information. In addition to conducting actual analyses, the Data Analyst mentors and teaches enhanced data investigational skills to interested employees in the Health Care System, through formal classroom training, one-on-one sessions, and other appropriate learning environments.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Epidemiology, Statistics, Business or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience in the health care or medically related industry with focus on data analysis. Proficient in use of Excel, JMP or Minitab, and other data analysis software. Prefer strong experience in application of measurement and data analysis for the purpose of Quality Improvement. Expertise in managing complex metrics, dashboards, and scorecards. Ability to translate data into useable information for professional and lay audiences. Requires ability to use independent judgment and handle highly confidential information with discretion. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal direction.
