Responsible for the safe, efficient day-to-day operation of the Sleep Laboratory. Includes administration of sleep studies; scoring of sleep studies; scheduling of procedures; calibration and maintenance of instruments and keeping of laboratory records. May assume lab charge duties in the absence of a Level 3 Technologist or the Lab Supervisor if CRT/RRT.
Graduate of an approved Sleep Technologist degree program and RPSGT Credential with 1 year of pediatric sleep experience or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred. A technologist with current RPSGT experience and at least 2 years of pediatric experience may be considered. OR Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist CRT/RRT, FL DOH RCP/RRT License current and/or by the hire date and RPSGT credential required. 1 year of pediatric clinical experience required, strongly prefer neonatal experience. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, parents, fellow staff and all members of the health care team is essential. Must be BCLS certified and able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation - PALS and/or NRP preferred. Ability to sit and/or stand for long hours at a computerized instrument. Ability to perform light lifting. Works primarily a night schedule with some on call hours (12 to 13 hr. shifts). Ability to move about all areas of the hospital campus. Ability to travel by auto throughout the ACH regional referral 12 county area. Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision, excellent assessment and documentation skills. Strong computer skills with MS Windows and MSWord competency. Current Florida motor vehicle license, dependable transportation and motor vehicle liability insurance required. Ability to position patients properly, administer all testing procedures as described in the departmental procedure, manual and lift objects or patients up to 35 lbs. using approved safe lifting techniques.
