Conducts comprehensive data validation, obtains required signatures, coordinates patient financial and insurance benefit information, works in union with multiple department to ensure reimbursement for services rendered.
High School education or equivalent education required. Experience in billing, follow up and collections preferred. Ambulatory care, medical office, or hospital experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred. Excellent communication skills; comprehensive knowledge of third party payer requirements; computer literacy; excellent customer service skills; knowledge of consent requirements. Demonstrates ability to use medical terminology; comprehensive knowledge of managed care contracts. Knowledge of state, federal and county programs; collection skills; negotiation skills. Attention to detail and accuracy; problem solving abilities. Extreme flexibility; ability to multi-task; ability to interact with physicians, nurses, and large patient volumes in a hectic-paced environment. Repetitive motion and strong visual skills required at a computer terminal. Requires sedentary tasks performed at work station. Must be able to move freely about department and facility.
