Performs tasks and designated procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse including Cardiology clinic duties and Non Invasive diagnostic testing (i.e., electrocardiograms, rhythm strips, holter monitor placement/analysis scanning, exercise stress tests and event/loop monitor placement). Performs quality control to assure the standardization of EKG, stress tests, holter monitors and event/loop monitors throughout the ACH organization. Assists with Cardiology equipment maintainance, education, training and ordering supplies.
High school graduate or equivalent. Must meet one of the following two criteria: 1. Graduate of a accredited school with diploma in Noninvasive Cardiavasular Technician (NCT) training. 2. Twelve months of full time clinical experience performing pediatric EKGs, holter monitor set up and pediatric holter scanning, event monitors and pediatric stress testing. Maintains current CPR certification. Good interpersonal and communication skills required. Phlebotomy skills preferred. Must be able to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to assigned patients. Will be required to push or pull light equipment (EKG equipment/monitor on casters). Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies. Must have and maintain a current State of Florida Driver's license. Possesses visual color acuity and manual dexterity. May experience long periods of standing. Obtain CCT (Certified Cardiographic Technician) credentialing through CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) within two years of employment
