Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the management of nursing care for patients with congenital heart disease and their families. Provides case management for all ACSP Cardiology patients for the following Specialty Care Centers: Sarasota and Ft. Myers. Collaboratively develops strategies to manage the care environment and negotiate the patient through the care experience. Holistically views patient situations, anticipates exceptions, and implements a disease and treatment pathway in the planning of care and prevention of complications. Leads to development and implementation of an interdisciplinary outcomes-oriented plan of care. Collaboratively develops strategies to manage the care environment and negotiate the patient through the care experience. Demonstrates commitment to nursing practice through clinic-based leadership, educational interventions with outcomes analysis, and quality improvement activities to enhance the provision of optimal practice outcomes. At this level, expected performance outcomes are based upon patient/family/nurse interactions at the clinic level. Provides safe nursing care to patients as defined by the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
Current licensure in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. BSN Required. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in pediatric cardiology nursing. Must have knowledge of pediatric cardiac disease. CPR, PALS, & ACLS certifications required. Travel between main campus and Specialty Care Centers required. Ability to perform physical activity, including but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.,) lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching and stooping. Must have auditory and visual acuity to provide care and operate general office equipment. Must be able to demonstrate age-specific competency in the care of patients.
