The Advanced Nursing Education Specialist serves as a role model, consultant, change agent and facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning implementing, and evaluating educational activities for the Nursing Education Department, nursing staff, and consumers. The Advanced Specialist operationalizes nursing services by ensuring that objectives and goals of the Department are relevant and consistent with goals and objectives of the Division and Hospital. The Advanced Nursing Education Specialist maintains exemplary professional interpersonal communication skills. Displays advanced analytical ability, logical thinking, proficiency in concept formation and conceptualization of complex theories, as well as creativity and the ability to analyze, anticipate, and recognize opportunities and potential problems. Exhibits the ability to organize and plan work activities, make independent decisions, and accept and delegate responsibility.
Graduate degree in Specialty or Education required, with undergradate degree in specialty.
Current RN license in the State of Florida
Must have 5 years pediatric clinical nursing experience with demonstrated clinical judgement and technical ability.
Nursing Professional Developement Certification required within first year of employment
2 years of nursing professional development experience required
Evidence of particpation in educational or research activities related to education or clinical practice.
Ability to problem solve complex clinical situations.
Demonstated ability to apply adult education learning theory and educational techniques.
Must be able to make independent decisions, plan, organize, self-direct and self-report work activities, and to accept and delegate responsibility.
Must display advanced analytical ability, logical thinking, proficiency in concept formation of abstract and complex problems.
