The Development Officer contributes to the Hospital’s mission by securing philanthropic support for the hospital, specifically by identifying and soliciting major gifts from Corporations and Foundations. This professional position will have a dramatic impact on meeting the Foundation’s fundraising goals and fostering a desirable impression of All Children’s Hospital in the community.
This position is responsible for creating a new, and managing an existing, portfolio of corporate and private foundations in order to generate financial support. Additionally, this position will be responsible for coordinating and executing the writing of proposals, completing applications and letters of intent, tracking and reporting outcomes, creating and giving presentations in front of large groups of internal and external constituents and should be comfortable defending funding proposals in an open setting.
The Development Officer will serve as the Foundation lead for true grant applications to foundations for program and research grants and serve as the liaison to grants administration for collaboration and cooperation, and will be the primary grant seeking employee for the Foundation.
A Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ professional and/or senior-level fundraising experience required. Must have a demonstrated success in solicitation of individual charitable contributions of $25,000+. Superb organizational, interpersonal, written, oral communication and presentation skills are essential. Prefer background in healthcare philanthropy. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge software a plus.
