A critical management/leadership position within the hospital organization that is crucial to the fulfillment of the hospital's mission. This position is responsible for all aspects related to the planning, management, direction, and performance of the Department of Respiratory Care at All Children's Hospital.
Bachelors degree required, Master's preferred, with emphasis in management, respiratory care, or related field. Minimum of five years supervisory/management experience required. In lieu of bachelor's degree, an associate degree with an additional five years of supervisory/management experience with demonstrated leadership competencies will be considered. Must be registered as a Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) with Florida DPR Therapist license. Active member in good standing with the American Assn. of Respiratory Care (AARC). Knowledgeable in appropriate therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures relative to pediatric respiratory care. Must be able to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to assigned patients. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with a diversified and complex approach to analyze and interpret specific and non-specific information in a decision making process. Has contact with a wide variety of people requiring ability to use a high level of tact and diplomacy. Requires discriminatory handling of confidential information. Must have a record of successfully demonstrating initiative, self-direction and independence of thought, coupled with a diversified and creative approach to problem solving.
