The RN IV demonstrates a deep understanding of the unique meaning and impact of health and illness issues for the patient and family. Possessing a vast background of experience, the RN IV recognizes and responds to the dynamic situation by using past experiences to synthesize and interpret multiple, sometimes conflicting, sources of data. The RN IV role models collaborative practice behaviors, provides mentorship, coaches, consults, and demonstrates professional commitment to the health care system. The RN IV engages in the development and implementation of research, quality improvement, leadership, publication, and community education programs for the advancement of clinical practice. The RN IV further performs analysis to demonstrate and support synergized, optimal patient, system, and professional outcomes. At this level expected performance outcomes are based upon patient/family/nurse interactions that impact the healthcare system.

Current licensure in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse, BSN preferred, NRP Certification, Neonatal theory course within first year of employment, National Neonatal Certification or Baccalaureate Degree required. ( Baccalaureate Degree required for hires after 4/1/00). Instructor of BLS, PALS, or NRP.A minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse.Cognitive skill required to safely administer medication
