The RN II consistently applies specialized knowledge and skills in the management of nursing care for the pediatric Hematology/Oncology patient populations and their families. Actively collaborates with physicians, clinical nurse specialists and other members of the health care team in managing the patient's plan of care through organizing, prioritizing, and addressing multiple patient needs and skill requirements. Provides safe nursing care according to the Florida Nurse Practice Act. A nurse at this level may be required to function as relief RN Supervisor, Outreach. Provides continuity of care for hematology/oncology parents. Assists in maintaining compliance with research protocols.
Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Florida Board of Nursing. Ability to perform physical activity, including, but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching, and stooping. Cognitive skill required to calculate and administer medication safely. Auditory and visual acuity to assess patients and provide nursing care. Must be able to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to assigned patients. CPR Certification. Interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively deal with stress.
