The RN III demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the management of nursing care for specific types of patient populations and their families. The RN III holistically views patient situations, anticipates exceptions, and implements a disease and treatment pathway in the planning of care and prevention of complications. The RN III leads to development and implementation of a interdisciplinary outcomes-oriented plan of care. The RN III collaboratively develops strategies to manage the care environment and negotiate the patient through the care experience. The RN III demonstrates commitment to nursing practice through unit-based leadership, educational interventions with outcomes analysis, and quality improvement activities to enhance the provision of optimal practice outcomes. At this level, expected performance outcomes are based upon patient/family/nurse interactions at the unit level.

Ability to perform physical activity, including, but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.) lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching, and stooping.
Current licensure in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse, BSN preferred, Certified Emergency Nurse recommended, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma Nurse Core Course, required. 8 hours of Hazmat awareness, required. A minimum of 3 years Registered Nursing experience.Cognitive skill required to safely administer medicationPhysical ability to perform all aspects of patient care, including CPR on all patients ranging in age from neonate to adultRead/write/speak and understand English Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nursing care. Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff. Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress
