Under the direction of the Vice President and CNO, in collaboration with the CMIO, CIO, and the Director of Biomedical Informatics (MD and/or PhD), the Director of Nursing Informatics has the responsibility for oversight for clinical informatics projects undertaken by the hospital, facilitating the development and implementation of automated systems and EMR-based standardized clinical care pathways and best practices for clinicians through multidisciplinary collaboration. Will be responsible to continually assess the needs for patient care at ACH and evaluate available market technology to determine the best resources for ACH to employ with the goal to provide improvement in patient care or clinical operations. Provides leadership on all clinically oriented IT projects for ACH. Works collaboratively with the CMIO, CNO, CIO and other leadership members on advancing the Clinical Information Technology Strategic Imperatives and aligning project initiatives across the organization
Requirements:
Current licensure in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse, Master's Degree required (or in the process of completion, prefers IT related nursing degree).
Professional Certification in Information Technology required within the first year of employment.A minimum of five (5) years previous nursing experience, pediatric experience preferred.Ability to perform physical activity, including but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching and stooping. Cognitive skill required to administer safe patient care.Read/write/speak and understand English.
Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nursing care.Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff.Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress.
