The Cath Lab RN is a designated role of the registered professional nurse who is in a role of consistently assuming responsibility for the nursing care provided to patients in the cath lab.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. One year experience as critical care RN preferred. Current licensure in the state of Florida, or current out-of-state licensure plus valid Florida endorsement. Score of 100% on ACH pharmacology/medication examination. HIV in-service per Florida State Board of Nursing requirements. Current ACLS certification certifications preferred. Must be able to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to assigned patients. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to utilize a high level of tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of people including physicians, staff members, parents and patients in a fast paced environment. Possesses auditory acuity and manual dexterity for operation of various equipment. Repetitive wrist and finger motion. Lift patients (light to medium weight) as per patient contact. Push/carry (light to medium weight) patient care equipment. Perform CPR on all ages. Mobility to perform patient care of all aspects. May experience long periods of standing or sitting concentrating on visual observation of instruments. Must be able to take call.
