Communications Director

Description: Reporting to the Vice President, Foundation, the Communications Director is responsible for directing, managing, executing and evaluating Foundation communications and communication activities in support of the Foundation. Works collaboratively with marketing communications team to ensure proper messaging, following brand guidelines and to avoid any missteps that could lead to conflicts. Will manage Foundation communications team that could eventually include a digital coordinator and foundation writer.
Requirements: Bachelors degree and 10 years of relevant communications experience. Experience in a large, complex non-profit organization with fundraising and/or communications experience preferred. Must have demonstrated ability to develop productive networks and relationships within a large organization; must have demonstrated knowledge of,and familiarity with, cutting edge methods and modes of communication. Must have extensive experience in successfully utilizing verbal and written communication skills within a large organization. Web and/or e-communication experience preferred. Manages work independently. Works with the ACH/JHM decision making process. Uses strong analytical skills and problem solving to improve processes. Must be an effective and efficient communicator with the ability to assess and understand situations quickly and clearly. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail a must
