During his heyday with the New York Yankees, legendary slugger Babe Ruth made a sizeable donation to help build the hospital that would one day become All Children’s. And on a balmy Monday afternoon in St. Petersburg, more than eight decades later, his 97-year-old daughter paid a visit to All Children’s to see the cutting-edge facility and reflect on her father’s generosity.

With March designated Blood Clot Awareness Month, it’s an ideal opportunity to underscore the dangers of blood clots and showcase the cutting-edge research and treatment being conducted by the Pediatric Thrombosis Program at All Children’s Hospital . The program combines the expertise of All Children’s Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine to help children who have developed a blood clot in the veins (venous thrombosis) or arteries (arterial thrombosis).

Roberta M. Alessi, M.H.S.A., joins All Children's Hospital as Chief Operating Officer on March 10, bringing three decades of expertise that will help All Children's become a national leader in pediatric care. She will oversee many key hospital divisions and service areas, including but not limited to Nursing, Rehab Services, Diagnostic departments, Home Care and the regional network of All Children's Outpatient Care centers in eight counties.
Human Resources is a program under All Children's Hospital. All Children's Hospital
is the only specialty licensed children's hospital on Florida's west coast. Founded in
1926, All Children's has grown into a leading pediatric referral center that is
dedicated to advancing treatment, education, research and advocacy in child health.
