All Children's Hospital Guild Evening Branch

Welcome Evening Branch President, Cheryl Matala

Welcome to the All Children's Hospital Guild Evening Branch. This Branch is comprised of an exciting group of women whose mission is to advocate, volunteer and fundraise for the children and families of All Children's Hospital. I am privileged to be a part of this organization and welcome you to join us in our fundraising efforts during the 2014-2015 year.

The Evening Branch was formed more than twenty years ago for members who could no longer attend meetings during the daytime. Now, the Branch membership is comprised of all types of individuals from the St. Petersburg and Greater Tampa area. We meet in the evenings at various locations in St. Petersburg, to socialize, discuss how to support the hospital, and implement fundraising activities.

Each year, the Evening Branch proudly present the All Children's Hospital Charity Ball as our signature fundraising event. Branch members work diligently throughout the year to host this premier social event. Over the years, Charity Ball has helped fund the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Applied Behavioral Analysis Program. Currently, proceeds from Charity Ball will help fund the Guild's $900,000 pledge to the Pediatric Palliative Care program, which helps provide a coordinated, comprehensive, and compassionate approach to caring for children with life-limiting or potentially life-threatening illnesses and injuries. This pledge will create a Pediatric Palliative Care Fellowship to help provide specialized physician training, enhance medical care and provide medical research and education in pediatric palliative care; as well as create an endowment to expand and sustain the multidisciplinary Palliative Care Program.

The 2015 Charity Ball was held on Saturday, January 24th at the beautifully decorated St. Petersburg Coliseum. The theme for this year's 84th Charity Ball was "Ooh La La". Thank you to all who joined us for an evening filled with entertainment and mystery, not to mention live and silent auctions, fabulous dinner, drinks, and dancing into the night.  In fact, Charity Ball has been ranked by Tampa Bay Illustrated as one of the top 50 events to attend.

If you would like more information on membership or activities on the Evening Branch, please do not hesitate to contact me.
