Learning Objectives: As a result of attending this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • identify risk factors for acquisition of HPV infection in women
  • identify HPV types according to clinical manifestation and oncogenic potential
  • discuss the rationale for HPV vaccination and the immunogenicity and efficacy of the HPV vaccines
  • cite the current guidelines and recommendations for HPV vaccination;
  • identify and overcome barriers to the acceptance of HPV vaccination, including bioethical issues related to HPV infection
