Teaming Up for Kids' Fitness

All Children's Hospital and the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg Partner to Combat Childhood Obesity

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg and All Children's Hospital have joined forces to combat childhood obesity through the Fit4Allkids program. The 8-week program is designed to encourage children ages 8-12 to do their personal best in reaching their own goals for weight loss, weight management and physical activity. The specialists at All Children's Hospital designed the program to help children adopt and maintain a healthy weight and body size and to be more active and fit.

The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg has a rich history of promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles in the community. One of its' branches, the Jim & Heather Gills facility located at 3200 First Avenue South in St. Petersburg, is a perfect match for the Fit4Allkids Program. The partnership will provide a collaborative effort that stresses the importance of physical activity, healthy eating, and family involvement in combating childhood obesity.

"All Children's Hospital is delighted to welcome the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg as a partner that shares our mission of helping families adopt healthy habits for long-term health and weight management," said Cindy Rose, Administrative Director of Marketing for All Children's Hospital.  "The YMCA offers a wonderful location for our families to participate in the Fit4allkids Program and explore a variety of fun fitness activities."

"The YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is always looking for new ways to reach out to our community and encourage healthy lifestyles," said David Jezek, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg. "We are excited about our partnership with All Children's Hospital and know that the Fit4Allkids program will benefit many families throughout our community."
