Nov. 7, 2008 (St. Petersburg, FL) Tampa Bay's best country radio station has stepped up for the region's premiere children's hospital.
The first annual US 103.5 Cares for Kids Radiothon raised $117,321 for All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
The two-day on-air event on Thursday, Nov. 6 & Fri. Nov. 7 featured families and patients from all across the region - places like Arcadia, Odessa, Lakeland, Sarasota, Tampa and St. Petersburg. They shared their stories of expert and compassionate care they received at All Children's Hospital.
"This new outpouring of community support in the midst of a tough economy is greatly appreciated and much needed," says Gary Carnes, President and CEO of All Children's Health System. "A brand-new All Children's Hospital is nearing its December 2009 completion date. These dollars will help us as we build what we hope will be the last children's hospital our region's kids will ever need - a bigger facility geared toward families with room to accommodate the technology of tomorrow."
