Dick Vitale Honored as 2012 Health Care Heroes Philanthropist of the Year
Congratulations to Dick Vitale, a longtime friend of All Children's Hospital as well as college basketball's top analyst and ambassador, for being named the 2012 Health Care Heroes Philanthropist of the Year. He was honored at the awards ceremony at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
He is on the board of directors of The V Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer that is funding research and education programs at All Children's Hospital, including the new Dick Vitale Pediatric Cancer Research Fellowship. He holds an annual Dick Vitale Gala, which has raised millions over the past seven years. All Children's pediatric cancer program and Moffitt Cancer Center have been honored to be recipients of this highly successful event.
