March is Athletic Training Month - Did you know we have Athletic Trainers at All Children's Hospital?
March is National Athletic Training Month. All Children's Hospital is proud to recognize our Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC's) who are part of our AllSports Medicine Program - Tampa Bay's only sports medicine program focused solely on young athletes.
We appreciate our athletic trainers for their commitment to helping children prevent injuries and stay healthy. They work with patients at the main hospital campus in St. Petersburg and at our outpatient centers in Brandon and Sarasota (program expansion is planned in the near future in Pasco, East Lake, and Tampa).
Our athletic trainers specialize in the prevention, assessment, immediate care, and rehabilitation of injuries. They work closely with orthopedic physicians and rehabilitation therapists to provide treatment for the care of young athletes. They also specialize in patient and community education on sports safety and injury prevention. The athletic training professional is an important part of the sports medicine team to ensure comprehensive care from injury to return to sport.
