Congratulations to the Newest ACH RN Residency Graduates

All Children's Hospital RN Residency Program

Congratulations to the 18 All Children's Hospital nurses who graduated this week from the RN Residency Program. This group of nurses began their careers at ACH in March, 2011. The 12-month program provides graduate nurses and/or newly licensed nurses with knowledge, skills and support as they transition from the academic setting to the hospital setting.  Upon completion of the residency, the RN is skilled and competent to care for acutely ill infants and children.

Graduates included:

NICU: Jennifer Gornish, Samantha Hadley, Laura Hays, Julie Mageras, Genevieve Robinson, Kathy Swan,  Rebekah Tillman, Meghan Winn

PICU: Kristina Gates, Leah Kalis, Kim Tochterman

CVICU: Sheila Berns,  Dana Cooper

Neurosciences: Clarissa Norris

Pediatric Medicine: Holly Beaver, Kelly Cuffel, Cecilia Dofka, Kelly Schrayer

When asked why they chose to become a nurse and join All Children's, comments included:

"Because I love children and babies, I knew that I had to be part of ACH."
"Working at ACH has been a childhood dream of mine since middle school."
"Just to see a child/family smile and know that I have made a difference in their lives."

"All Children's Hospital is committed to providing a comprehensive program that prepares our new nurses for the challenges in an evolving healthcare environment," said Hella Ewing, ACH Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. "When I look at this group of graduates, I am reminded of what it means to be new nurse. There was a level of excitement within this class that is contagious. I am proud of their accomplishments and appreciate the leaders who make this program possible."
