While docked at the Port of St. Petersburg over Labor Day Weekend, crew members from the USS Independence, including the ship's Executive Officer and Command Master Chief, visited patients and families at All Children's Hospital. The Port, located in Bayboro Harbor, is just a few blocks from the hospital. Some of our patients could actually see the ship through their hospital room window. The Independence is one of the Navy's newest and most unique warships.
